God's Call to Church Planting in Asia
( Macedonia Independent Baptist Church )

In July 10 2003, the Lord spoke to my heart in one of my devotions from Acts 16:9-10,” And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us. And after he had seen the vision, immediately we endeavored to go into Macedonia, assuredly gathering that the Lord had called us for to preach the Gospel unto them.” These verses prompted me to do church planting work in Singapore and elsewhere in Asia. Since then, I had the privilege to mentor the Associate Pastor and now handed the pastorate to him.

That year, the Lord had also spoken to my heart of the Great Commission in Matthews 28:10-20 regarding the Local Church’s task in World Evangelism and biblical church planting ( South East Asia particularly in the 10/40 Windows ).

1. He further impressed upon me in Acts 1:8, of the need to do cross cultural evangelism in Singapore.

2. He spoke to my heart about starting a New Testament Church that has a Cross Cultural outreach to the one million foreigners living and working in Singapore.

3. He impressed me to reach Singaporeans as well as other nationalities represented here and then to disciple, train and send out those who are called back to their homeland in Asia to start indigenous churches. These people are from countries, which, may be closed to Missionary work. The countries represented here are; China, Vietnam, Africa, Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, India, South and North Korea, Nepal, Japan, Scotland, USA, France etc.

4. My task is to train, assist, send and direct those called to start a Church planting movement among their fellow countrymen.

In Dec 2004, the Holy Spirit spoke to my heart in Habakkuk 2:3-4, “ For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry.…..the just shall live by his faith.” He had impressed upon my heart the need to wait for the right timing to start the new work.

He also spoke to me in Luke 5:4-6, “ Now when he had left speaking he said unto Simon, Launch out into the deep and let down your nets for the draught. And Simon answering said unto him, Master, we have toiled all the night, and have taken nothing; nevertheless at thy word I will let down the net. And when they had this done, they enclosed a great multitude of fishes: and their net brake.” The Lord directed me to give my whole heart in this new ministry once it is being launched otherwise unfocused service will be met with the breaking of the net when He blesses the work.
